Making Connections and Making a Difference
Church-sponsored events...whatever form they take...enable us to develop and deepen relationships with God and others. We also discover the truism that we are "better together." As we combine our gifts and talents, we are better able to make a difference in the lives of each other as well as our community and world.

Any time of the year can be sad or stressful for friends or family members going through a difficult time such as a critical illness, recent death of a loved one, worrying about upcoming surgery and so on. Members of our Angels of Hope committee mail angels, prayers, and messages to such people... many that they don't even know. Receiving unexpected prayers and encouragement when a person is at a low place in their life is Christ's love in action. Anyone may request an angel for their friends or family -- Email Judy Harvey your requests at goodvibes47@hotmail.com with your friend's name, mailing address and a brief description of their need for prayer. Your friend will be blessed!
If you are interested in being a part of this ministry and joining in sending these cards, please see Judy Harvey or email Judy at goodvibes47@hotmail.com.
We cordially invite you to join us at the church on Wednesday evening May 1st at 5:45 p.m. for cutting patterns and materials. These will be taken home for sewing. We are also seeking volunteers to cut or sew items at home. Our sewing projects include shorts for boys, as well as shorts, tops, and dresses for girls. Additionally, we sew bears, dolls, and drawstring bags. All patterns and materials will be provided. The completed items are destined for OCC (Operation Christmas Child) shoeboxes.
The theme for our May 11th Buddy Break session is "Mother's Day". Now is an excellent time to train new Buddies! We urgently need more Buddies to ensure a warm welcome for every VIP who wants to join the fun, while also providing a respite for moms, dads, and siblings of kids with special needs.
We are offering the mandatory training for new Buddies at the church on May 11th from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. If you know someone who may be interested, please encourage them to reach out to Lisa Lawrence or Paige Jensen. Remember, you do not have to be a member of King of Kings, just be someone with a heart for children with special needs.
After May 11th we will be taking a Summer Break and Buddy Break will resume sessions in August.
Take a minute to look back at the wonderful faith and fellowship events we have had at King of Kings!
King of Kings Lutheran Church was honored to have renowned organist Nicholas Bowden perform on December 2nd to christen our new church organ. The concert theme of King of Kings Comes was both faith driven and inspirational. We cannot express enough gratitude for this wonderful opportunity.
King of Kings has a Christmas tree on display at the Pickens Library near downtown Jasper. The library has an annual Festival of Trees each Christmas where trees are displayed all over the building by local businesses. We encourage everyone to visit the library and share in this festive celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ!.
November 5th Engelheim Vineyard hosted the annual outdoor Sunday service and fellowship event. We are blessed to come together once again in the beautiful vineyard setting to celebrate our Christian Faith.
