The Appalachian Children’s Center’s (ACC) has been around since 2001, and is 1 of 48 child advocate centers in Georgia, and 1 of over 900 in the United States.
Sadly, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 5 boys will be abused by or before their 18th birthday. ACC's purpose is to provide immediate support and assistance to child victims and their families. These services may include advocacy, crisis intervention, counseling, forensic interviews, forensic medical exams, and help locating needed resources and services.

The center sees between around 20 children per day on average and is always in need of snacks to hand out to the kids. Next time you are at the store, grab some children's snack food (fruit cups, crackers, granola bars, etc.). The center can also use paper items such as toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues. Items are being collected at King of Kings.
The Appalachian Children's Center has has recently moved! Now located near downtown Ellijay, their new building is 4200 square feet and will allow them to serve more children and their families. However, they still need help getting the center to full potential. Please consider a donation to help complete the new facility. You can make a donation in the Church Narthex or go directly to the donation page on their website by clicking on the link below.
